Sad day for Naish, but the company that picked him up will be very stoked.

Well I'd imagine it would have to be either a move to one of the big companies - Cabrinha, Duotone etc, or he is looking at going into business for himself and launching his own brand. If his net worth really is what is being reported, he has enough cash to bankroll his own venture.

Always wonder how they arrive at that net worth figure.

If per chance that that figure is correct, I am surprised given that kiting is certainly not a "main stream" sport and that sort of wealth is normally attributed to a soccer/tennis/basketball high ender.

I thought he was going to go to a big name brand and though cabrinha due to nick leaving. Duotone could be another option as I see from the blog he's good friends with Lasse.

However I'm now starting to think that he might be joining up with mystic to start off making kites. They have certainly come along way recently releasing their own bindings, wetsuits etc.

Could be a long shot but as they are based in Holland it might be a good fit...

Very strange with only a month or so before KOTA.. only a short time to get up to speed on the new gear

39 Mill would be more than Naish made over the same time I'd guess. I'd heard most riders don't make much over 60k, so he must be a good gambler.

I very much doubt that as Mystic was bought by North back in January last year.

i'd say 39 million is a very conservative estimate of Kevin Langeree net worth considering the negative growth of kiteboarding during the last few years.

I would say maybe more towards the 100 million Rupiah mark is realistic.

Lol. Sounds like a tech bubble valuation (based on number of instagram followers)

Best of luck Kevin, not sure we need another kite brand but I totally get the motivation behind it. Being able to have total freedom in designing your own gear as well as building another income stream in an industry you are passionate about, hope it works out for you and Damien.
