Yeah, I did think it looked too offshore. It looks like if it came a little more cross then it would all on.

The wave bends , it's generally cross shore then as it gets to the second barrel section the wave pulls around the reef. I filmed Keahi smashing it for a few hours with some incredible barrels and massive re-entries , unhooked (it's all in the movie LTS2)

I've seen plenty of other kiters surf it in similar conditions no worries. The one BIG real advantage on the kite is dodging and picking up the clean up sets. It's such a brutal place to surf or Sup when the whole horizon stands up and wipes out everyone. Keahi was towing guys clear with his safety line.

Please remember if u'r planing on kiting cloudy to be super respectful and give way to surfers at all times. It's real easy to pull out and whip into the next one. Cheers.

Yeah good point , not the place to kite when the waves are on. We were filming for 6 hours and by the time Keahi broke out the kite most of the proners had broken their boards or had enough. All the kiters I meet there were super respectful and kiteing deep inside pulling off when they came to the surfers take off point or calling them on. On a average to good day at Cloud Break expect to see 30 or 50 guys in the water.
