the bar safety doesnt look very wakestyle friendly its a pain in ass hooking back in when kotes depowerd and your in suicide mode and your leash is hanging at bottom of chicken loop where your spreader bar hook wants to go. But least looks like its got a below qr swivel so yeah... Rest bar looks clean so thats good. Im not too enthusiastic about this toolless chicken loop. Any physical movement overtime wears on parts id rather have zero wear on my attachment from me to kite.

Fingers crossed they release a 6line 5 strut directly connected pure C kite. They can call it the HYPE i would be happy with that.

But yeah... i dont know... nothing that i use is being replaced by looks of things. All looks good and all im just not in theyre target market.

God i wish they redid theyre last chaos. Maybe they did and its just waiting... Looks like release dates were around october?

Wonder if the profile transition panel is as nice as it looks in the render. If so looks pretty good. Should help stop the canopy from getting bagged out over time.

Axis: 149/155 board.
Duotone: 148 board.
Liquid Force: 150 board.

It's almost the norm . Anyway didn't you hear length isn't everything, you still need the other stuff to go with it (outline, base, construction, rocker, etc.), the fact that all their boards almost look identical doesn't really fill me with excitement.

p.s. Did they forget to hire someone to do graphics or what?

Material is just techno force D2. Interesting choice when most other brands have progressed from double ripstop to double/triple, triple or quad.

To be honest you get what you deserve if your purchasing due to heavily hued out to point of bleeding photo shoot nonsense. I figured out a good decade ago to only go to a kite spot after watching some old kooks 1 hour gopro on a board crotch shot video with zero editing and one take to get a real idea of the location and conditions.

As far as the sponsored riders being caught out for promoting theyre brand thats quite literally theyre job.


If its just every kook on the mailing list thats another story.

I always thought an aqua palmtree with a pink sunset signalled the instagram algorithm :P

Long and short of it.

NORTH wasn't happy to lose kitesurfing market, hires all the big guns from Cabriniha, and relaunches. **** loads of money so they can get really good riders too.

My guess is that with only 1 year to design set up and build, they concentrated on kites that are nice to fly and not so much in graphics and stuff. With pat Goodman as thier designer, I'm sure they will be up to scratch.

Second from my basic understanding north as you said was a large sailing company and duotone used theyre name and logo on some sort of deal happily since ever but then one wanted to go this way other wante to go that way so the sailing mob said yeah well well start our own brand with our logo or something like that

Anyways so new north hired some big shots, designers from cabrinha and various other people from places (its all on the new north website) and might explain why some the gear looks eeeerily familular to the cab designs.... Im unsure if they took those rights from cabrinha or if its a hay we pay you you pay us we both get the designs or what... Either way thats that... Then theyres the smattering of pro riders yada yada yada

Honestly even tho its a "new" company all the equipment looks very... Mature aged proven it doesnt look at all like first time designs... Which for me is a bit boreing but business wise theyre main concern is reported failing of gear on a new brand so theyve hedged everything they had that way. Useing only proven materials and designs. Which i mean.... Makes sense... So your ment to buy theyre stuff cause itll do the job and not fail i guess

Actually its not. North has some staff from Cabrinha, but also many others who did not come from Cab. AND Cabrinha is still going 100%, they only changed one kite this year, but they have a full lineup and a brand new bar which is pretty good. Cab has a smaller and tighter management team and hopefully they find some new energy too.

The North kites are made in the same factory as Duo and Core in Sri Lanka, Cab is still made in the Performance factory owned by the NP Group.

Only us riders and kiting addicts will benefit from this nasty corporate split, let the revenge driven good times roll on we reckon!
