Can you believe our local council, not only do they plant massive Norfolk pines along the beach front blocking the rich peoples ocean views. It's gone one step further now, look where they put the bloody light poles......unbelievable, I mean who kites at night do we really need them anyway.

LOL Poor cab's, if it's not a tree it's a pole.

To the guy that climbed up there your a

This light pole thingy does not surprise me at all. There must be some kind of cosy relationship between councils and a light pole company. You think the poles along the foreshore are a waste, what about all the lights on the highway from Perth to Mandurah which do nothing but light up the bush; millions of dollars wasted, not to mention the perpetual cost of electicity, and for what I ask.

if your a retard and your kookish behaviour or lack of skills becomes apparent and ends in something like the above picture then no sympathy is given. Have a nice climb or get a cherry picker.

That Cab obviously mistook the Pole for a Tree. Must get glasses for that Cab.

Funny!

Even more points for doing it with a prosthetic.

Yeah I thought that too. Certainly looks it from the photo.

I am assuming he climbed up there to get the kite, and didn't get lofted on to the pole. Then again, stranger things have happened...

Why is it always Cabs ?
I am guessing the 4 dudes in the high vis are from the local council & the person with the arms crossed in the prayer gesture is the owner.

With the number of people in the pond these days imagine how much carnage there would have been if that old sail boat was still anchored right in the guts, the sadistic side of me wishes it still was [}:)]

We didn't even need to see the kite to know what brand it was, all stereotypical thoughts point to it being a Cab. How about I take it a step further and assume it was a Euro?.

Can someone (who wants to be rich and famous) invent a cheap equipment that light up poles only when there is someone nearby? Our grand kids will thank him.

hey i was one of the guys helping her get her kite down.. so i guess i should give everyone the whole story. Basically she had a bit of a kitemare all around lol. english girl about 23... good looking lol.

but she basically had lost her board ended up at the jetty with all the windsurfers i asked her if everything was ok as i just finished going for a sail "shudder" she just said yeh but haven't a bad time stung by jellies and lost her board. But she assured me she could get back upwind no problem.

I watched her go.. kite around 3pm .. saw the pole coming up started shouting "KITE UP KITE UP".. she didnt hear me hit the pole told her to hit her QR. It was so unlucky because the kite was just out of reach as it kept twirling tighter and tighter around that bloody awfully kite killing designed llght pole.

I even got a ladder from the deli trying to get it but it only went up half the way.. That guy that climbed the pole was nothing short of amazing. He wrapped his legs around the pole even stable enough for me to throw a stanley knife up. Basically he was spider man

He cut the kite down no problems but poor lass had to get 4 new lines, new bridle and the connection of bridal lines would have to strengthened and repaired.

and yes i definitely made fun of her because it was a cab lol

Empty beach and he insisted on launching right in front of the pole. Got to love human logic.

It would have been better if they were electicity poles - 2 less kites on the water to take up space.

I see it was your fault, putting the poor pommy off her game.

Don't argue this or I'll open up a can of cybernetics on your ass.

Thats why Safety Bay is not a newby/kook/learner spot. It is dead on shore in a Seabreaze. As soon as the wind gets too strong or too light you end up in all sorts of trouble.

I hope the council send her the repair bill for the paintjob on the pole.

All it takes is for one old biddy walking her dog along that path to be taken out and it is all over red rover for kiting in the pond.
