i've been doing a bit of research on impact vests for the same reasons as mentioned above, can't afford to injure myself anymore and have taken some good beatings on the ribs in the process of learning to kite ... and truth be told I always use a helmet, especially in winter. Hardest part is find a dealer who stocks them to try them out as I think it needs to put a good fit .. (I'm in WA). I looked at the North vest but it still seems to have padding where a waist hardnest would normally sit and ruled it out on those grounds. The models below seem to integrate better for a waist harness.

Another reason i'd like to try them on is to see what makes the LF vest so much more expensive.. feedback welcome if anyone has used these..
