Ian was an X SAS soldier and super strict on safety and delivering clear concise instructions. A great instructor who taught a lot of the early crew and really got the show on the road here. I was just exaggerating his direct style and the fact I needed to grow a pair. Caught up with him at the last windfest which just blew my mind, I owe that guy.

The whole term keyboard warrior is so apt here causehecan. I know shi house and those of us that do on here would love to see you face to face with him and see how many words flow out of your mouth and for how long.

Honestly causehecan in the true spirit of friendly humour, you would appreciate the picture in my mind - if you met him in person. The reason they teach these methods in the military is because after 2000 years of battles they found it works. Soft Australia might not like it but old Australia grew up with it.

Im human i get scared when im threatened. But if i believe something im sure as hell going to say it especially on a topic im so passionate about. Im like "on the spectrum" passionate about kites. So i like to do my own research about everything i believe reguarding them.

And that includes instructing.

Every tradesman here has been an apprentice and every one of them knows the difference between being yelled at and told to work faster and threatened at work and the opposite where you have a good genuine boss whose wanting to teach you the trade and apreciates you being there. Its called a relationship. And the army drill instructor style is definitely not the way to go for most students. (Keep in mind this is a GENERALISATION which covers everyone not targeting your boyfriend that seems to have upset you all go read what i posted again and learn not to fall for the strawman someone posted afterwards)

It's great if you have a bunch of knowledge and independent opinions. However, that's not what annoys people.
What's annoying is your tone in expressing your knowledgeable opinions and your refusal to respect either the opinions of others (many of whom are plenty experienced) or the norms and goodwill of the community. If everyone was as dismissive of others as you are, the forum would stop working. In this sense you're a parasite on the goodwill that others have established over many years.

Maybe some of the jagged edges will be smoothed off by time, and you might even come down and join the human race and find out that being a regular schmuck among other regular schmucks ain't so bad ...
