Will hyperlite system bindings fit all kiteboards? Heard there was a slight difference in the fix points etc.

no different to any other mainstream boot/foot strap on the market. will fit 99% of boards

I used the "system" a few years back and found it dident work for kite very well. In gusty wind it is a bitch to strap up. In light winds you're walking back up the beach with your boots on. In direct on shore winds where u have to walk out into the water it is almost impossible to strap into. Just grab your self a set of one's and never look back.

I'd have to disagree with this. Kiters have to deal with walking around in ****ty spots (rocks, sharp things etc) and having shoes on can be pretty damn nice in my experience. As for putting them on in gusty conditions... are you serious? You can put them on with one hand whereas you need two for Ronix style. The onshore wind thing is crap with any boots but its just as easy to do as with any other brand in my experience. The new System is far and away better than it's predecessors and is the best kiting boot on the market IMHO.

I posted this before and a few people (shops) did not believe me but as I have been personally used them (size S/M 2014 model) on several boards and tried to use them on some others with limited success I believe it is of value mentioning that there might be some issues with compatibility with some boards. I could not get a nice duck stance fixed with some boards while a more parallel orientation was ok. Did not quite work on the Joke and some LF boards, works very well on my Axis board, easy on boards with track rails obviously as well, heard it works on the Tona, etc.
So best take your board to the shop who sells the Hyperlites making sure it works perfectly. As for the actual bindings and ease of use I agree it is great, easy to get in and especially out and you don't have to tighten the damn laces every ten minutes plus walk around in boots which in winter or some spots is a pretty good idea. Compared to a Ronix boot you save a few bucks also. Ronix are more comfy/snug, that is the only thing I miss a bit.

Ive only used mine a handful of times and i havent found them too hard to get into, i struggled when the water was deeper than waist deep but im sure there is a technique to it that i dont know about and im sure any boot would be hard to put on in deeper water in high winds, ive also riden them without strapping in and done the straps up with one hand as i went out which was handy to just get off the beach on a crowded day. I have them on an Axis board and no problems there, I have heard problems with compatibility with some boards like RussKraut said. What board are you looking at putting them on crabbit?

I think I talked to you before about this. So weird I've never had anyone with issues mounting these on LF boards, Cabrinha, Axis (as you mentioned), or any other make for that matter. The only one I haven't tried is the Joke but surely that has normal spacing doesn't it? Are the inserts inline or off set?

i recon i might try some hyperlites for my next pair of boots. ronix are the most over rated boots around. the laces seriously do my head in. you have to replace the plastic do-er-upper things like every month. i replaced the last ones with liquid force they hold really well but they only had 2 so i still have to do up the 2 ronix ones between every trick. pain in the ass. also they dont do up evenly. on the bottom lace i need the toe part to be tighter but it is as tight as it can go towards the ancle but the toe part still has heaps of room to be done up.

but seriously, first world problems. ha

I use both 014 hyperlite systems and ronix parks I find the systems are great behind the boat or at cable but prefer the ronix to kite with as they have more flex and are more comfortable I also find the ronix easier to get into while hooked up to the kite but that's just me. I also had issues mounting the systems to my boards with the left binding fitting fine but the right not I had to fit the binding facing inwards to get the bolts to fit and then force the binding out to get the right stance. This was the same on 2 different boards but it's not really a big problem unless the binding cracks due to the pressure.

Having wakeboarded for years on only the best, hyperlite is
the goods. That is if you want the best quality and product.
But don't take my word for it. I'm just an old wake nut..
Would never be like Darin Shapiro if I rode all those other crap boards...

But I only competed against my self n not in commercial competition's doesn't mean that I didn't try every other companies boards n bindings. I did. And I worked hard to buy my gear also.

Hyperlite will fit on any kiteboard that Ronix, LF, DUP, Obrien, or any other current wake brand fits on...

As for the binding itself, I would say it's far better quality than all the others I have ridden because I'm not replacing bits and pieces or boots every month or two like I once was. Some people that like floppy boots probably wont like the system at first, but they are the same people that probably still wouldn't mind riding straps as well .

Boots are much better for your ankles IMO. I've had ankle surgery from years of blow outs from various sports. The one which really stuffed it and sent me to the surgeon was a bad landing using straps kiteboarding - my ankle rolled forward over itself. Boots have given me support you dont get from straps, and this season alone have probably saved my dodgy ankle a few times.

Exactly! Straps are the most stupid invention ever for flipping around and doing technical squiggles, it's just asking for trouble if you continue to ride them.

I don't think I've seen one of those done before.

Though it does sound like me when i was learning a front roll and only getting half way around. there was a whole lot of squiggling going on to get myself around to not land backwards. again.

i have a stack of photos i might upload of my leg- got crunched in an sbend, front foot came out board twisted and caused a webber b spiral fracture and ankle ligament damage.looking into which boots for next season(hopefully recovered by then).

ohh guess what my 5 month old pair of way over rated and over priced ronix parks fell apart yesterday. The top of the boot breaks away from the bottom, stitching and glue all ripped apart same thing happened to my last pair too but they were about 11 months old when it happened so i got this pair under warranty. but because i got this pair under warranty, they wouldn't renew the warranty so i only had 1 month warranty on this pair. not sure what ill get next. money is a bit of an issue at the moment so hopefully i can find something fairly cheap thats good. Don't like my chances tho.

i was also thinking of taking them to a boot repair place. do you recon they can fix them or if its even worth it?

yeah mate take it in and get a quote, might cost you 50 - 100 or what ever but might be worth while until you can save up and get a replacement pair. I had same issues with ronix a few yrs back and they never seem to be improving their quality.

My honest opinion is that LF boots last the longest. My hyperlite process boots had this velcro that goes around the lower leg and that tore out after 5 sessions, not sure if it was meant to support or if it was just meant to be cosmetic but I used it as support and it didn't last.

I have a pair of LTD Watson boots that I've had since April 2011 and they are still going strong. worst thing that's happened so far was that one of the webbing loops for the laces started to fray.

Yeah mate I did that, I took my boots to one of those shoe repair places in the local mall, only cost $30 to get both boots re stitched, did a good job

I bought a pair of hyperlite bindings and the Marek boots at the weekend. The pitch on binding is 6" which fits my board fine even tho the pitch looks more like 6 1/4".

Got a pair of these Hyperlites (boot and binding system) fitted to Takoon Lux Phi and they go pretty good in my opinion (not that i would know as is first time on bindings). Loving that locked in feeling!

They are a bitch to get into and out of the boots themselves before you attach to board (but thats not really a problem for obvious reasons). Bindings are realtively easily to get on and really simple for anyone who has a snowboarding background.

Cant fault them at this stage and if your thinking of going to the dark side they are a good option.

byerly do but they are the same as hyperlites just rebadged with different colourways
