New stuff is looking nice! Webb on the left and Process on the right. Base plate is stiffer/stronger this year and the boot material is improved. Basically they tried to make the durability better whilst maintaining the lighter weight of the 2015 compared to previous models. Only time will tell but loving the new looks! We have AJ, Webb, and Process in stock at the moment.

To bad they gone up in price from last year for system and boot. from what i have looked at i think the binding has gone up $50 and the boot $50 to $100 depends on where you buy from pro wake or kitepower. So instead of $650 for 2015 boot and binding its now $750 to $800 for 2016 AJ/ Process.

I find it funny however, how long the wake industry took to get this system into the market.
Do a search for the oldest snowboard boot and binding combo you can find, and it looks like the current wake ranges.
Just a thought.

Technology wasn't really good enough before I don't feel, boots used to weigh 3-4kgs each, systems would have been even worse.

Hey rowdy what are your thought on systems without the back ??? Just got the new ones and saw they had a backless model or low back ??

I'm not Rowdy but I think for kiting it totally ruins one of the best features. The fact that 1 year after you get your boots the back is still as stiff and responsive as they day you got them with the normal back! how good...

That being said I have an old pair I'm thinking of modifying, maybe I will cut at a height somewhere between the two and test.I also think they could have improved on the design by having high back of different flex, for example stiff, medium, soft, with the current iteration being the stiff variety.

I didn't order any of the low backs (though we can order them in if somebody wants them) because of exactly this. The extra flex is good for rail riding at the cable I hear from Hyperlite pros but there's just no point for kiting. The reason they work so well kiting is because you get extra edge response and even if you flog the boots they stay stiff. A 3 month old pair of the stiffest Ronix fold over so badly you might as well be wearing a foot strap.

I assume you mean "snowboard brand" as I don't think Backstreet Boys were making bindings .

Seriously though, Snowboarding and Wakeboarding are totally different things. When you Snowboard you have far more pressure on your bindings cutting through ice/ hard snow than you do cutting through water Wakeboarding, I don't think it's really comparable. That being said I love how Hyperlites feel.

p.s. Lots of the top Snow Kiters cut down their highbacks to make them low or non-existent.

I think the reason some people like them low for rail riding is because the high back makes your boot super responsive, so if you make a mistake on a rail it's amplified. If you have a low back you have some give and more room for error if you're off balance. Kind of the opposite of what works best for air tricks and edging I guess. I'm pretty sure the boat guys are all still using the high backs.

p.s. I haven't had a problem on rails with the highbacks, I kind of like how it feels as you have more stiffness to press with.
