Totally stoked to be reunited with my kiteboard which went MIA over the Christmas break.

I highly recommend getting yourself onto www.lostkiteboard.com.au and order yourself stickers for each of your boards, kites even.

Yeah, you could write your phone number on the board directly but some poor second hand owner gonna have your number on her board. (no, she's not going to call you).

The service is free to use and only costs postage money. In fact, if your local shop has some stickers in store it's completely free. Ask them.

When I couldn't find my board I emailed lostkiteboard and the person who had it had already lodged a submission with them. The rest was easy: they had provided contact details and I was able to arrange a collection.

As you can see, the sticker is pretty prominent but discreet at the same time. Enough to help nudge the finder to do the right thing. See photos.

Big kudos to them for providing this service! I asked how I can contribute to the cause and all they asked was that I shared my stoke and help others to know about the service. Absolute legends.

Yeah, but that ruins the resale of your kit. Print it out with a Dymo label maker and you can peel it off again before you sell

Dymo label is also a good idea.

Looks like the link is dead in the OP.
lostkiteboard.com.au/index.html for those who are interested.

you can easily remove even "permanent" markers with a bit of nail polish remover or other alcohol before selling

Interesting. I loaned my TT to a noob to use cause I had not used it in years. He was worried he would lose it so he wrote his name in permanent marker on the BOTTOM of the board. I have not been able to get it off, and I have tried a few things, but not nail polish remover. The problem on the bottom deck is the marker goes into the ptex. Hopefully this will work.

Try writing over with another permanent marker pen and wipe off before it dries - worked for me.

I am using stickers from sea-id.com, these are top quality and highly customizable. Lasts longer than the board and can be peeled off when one re-sales.
Got one AFTER first lost a board and searched for it on beach for an hour in my beginner days :) Holding as new for 4 years since.
