Hi everyone,

I'm after a line mount for my Gopro 3. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Cheep cheep would be best :D

Drill 4 holes in the stand plate the go pro came with. Cut the plate so it's about 5cms by 5 cms. The remove the sharp corners. Cost is free!

I have a camrig and they are quite good.. I've also seen someone use zip ties which worked (not that I saw the footage) but it stayed attached to the lines..

I tried this and it worked, but it was bounces around and is not stable at all - I bought a Camrig for $80 and it's way more stable.

For $80, I'd want it to be more stable too.

You will always get bounce on line mounts, I gave up on video for this reason and the view flipping every time you change direction. I usually set the camera on stills at 30 second intervals, gets some pretty good shots...

Any style of mount for GoPro-style that dangles the camera under the lines will oscillate a lot. The newer version mounts the camera vertically, and it's greatly reduced. Raw footage is watchable... but yeah, you'll still get some bounce.

Well, highest fps and postprocess stabilization is the only way on line mounts to get the "most stable". Or is it? :D

A well designed line mount makes life a lot easier.

I've got a Contour Roam2 and it doesn't even really need PP stabilization. Being able to adjust the lens helps too...

I went with the camrig :)

Shall have to wait and see if it was $80 well spent!

Camrig is good with the silicone spacers around the lines.

Just watch that the silicone spacers don't interfere with a single line flagging safety (as it can prevent the line from moving freely if you pull the exit trigger).

I had the same concern so I don't use the silicon spacers on the flagging line. I tried just straight without the spacers but the camrig can come off the line when the lines go slack. I found the best solution is to get a plastic straw, cut down the length of it place it over the flagging line and then tread it through the connections where the spacers would normally go. this means the line can slide through the straw easily and the cam rig will not come off with slack lines. I can take som pics to show set up if you want.

you have to be careful because the silicon spacers get "stuck" into the line so it will affect single line flagging systems.

The solution is to use the green silicon stoppers on the line that does not flag, and no silicon on the flagging line.

That should be enough to prevent the camera from moving down.

Here's the set up I use. You might not need the straw if you have stiffer lines but I find the lines can come out or get caught on theplastic fingers. I found it essential to cut down the length of the straw as this will make it easy to get on the line and it will contract and grow for a good fitting in the plastic fingers.

That was with the older style Camrig line mount, worked great on the Cabrinha IDS kits as you didn't need to worry about flagging lines. I haven't tired on my 2015 Cabs

I tried doing this and lost my go pro when it flew off somewhere. Where can I get a camrig?
