Staying in geralton on a west tour kiting trip jan 6-16. Any help on best kiting areas within an hour, best apartments to stay , 2 blokes need a one or two bed apartment , we both like mid size waves and would like to explore from a base. Any help would be great from the locals . We are coming from the east as we know its reliable over there , same cant be said for Sydney .

Cheers

You are talking about Geraldton right?, aka Gero by the locals.

I would be a bit worried about 2 blokes from Sydney and only requiring one bed.

Take your pick, best bet is to go on tripadvisor an look at the ratings, id say the mantra or broad water would be the most pricey but pretty nice.

Mid range would be the ocean centre hotel, best western, abrohols hotel but there's a lot more. Good location right in town an your only 5mins away from the 2 main kite spots (pt Moore & separation point)

If you want waves go out on the south side of separation point with the beachy north of back beach or if you want to try some reefs go out at pt moore

And make sure you head up to horrocks beach, 45 minutes north of Gero. Great waves, very quiet, and it would be a treat to have some company!

At your price point, you'll find lots of options to stay. The ocean centre is pretty good, being central and great views to the north. But don't stress about where to stay, you'll be so stuffed you won't know where you are sleeping...
