plenty of names for kiting from surfers-
****en tea-baggers, dope on a rope, WAFI (wind assisted ****ing idiots), wannabe wakeboarders, and my favourite; "why would you do that? it just looks gay."

"kite sailing", "wind sailing" and then people make a wierd motion with their arms to demonstrate your sport. at school kitesurfing seems to be common knowledge even though there are 4 of us in a 1200person school
happy kitesailing

My girlfriend asks me, "are you going 'skiting' today?"

One of the guys I work with doesn't bother with a name, he just asks, "did you do wind on the weekend"

I get windsurfer from a lot of people. I don't even bother correcting them any more.
"Yes I am going windsurfing with a kite...." , even then they don't catch on.

It's great to have workmates that understand attitude at work is directly proportional to hours spent kiting during days off.

When I talk to people about windsurfing they often ask, "Can you do that thing with the thing?"

Whereupon they begin shaking an imaginary bar and looking up at an imaginary kite

Love it.
