Have been riding Fuels for some time now and love them. Have 7, 9, 11, 13 all in 07 model. I ride 4 line with 20m line lengths.

I understand the 07 is very similar to the 08, and the 09 is very similar to the 2010. Question is, are the 09/10 models easier to relaunch than the 07/08s? Of course I can reverse relaunch my 07 fuels, but to do this I typically need to be standing up. If I stack and lose my board in deep water it is quite difficult and takes some time relaunch and I normally revert to the swimming method.

I suppose the question is this: can I reverse / side flip relaunch these newer fuels in lighter wind (say 15) without a board, in deep water (worst case scenario)?

Cheers guys.

Hey Guys

After having spent all of last season on the 09 fuels and then this season on 10 fuels compared to prior years the newer ones are really easy to relaunch.

I kite in water too deep to stand and as long as your technic with the newer fuels is good then around 5 - 10 seconds is the average unless wind is light enough that you not going upwind.

Best way is to pull bar towards you and then pull one back line really hard, the kite flips sideways onto its wing tip and then just steer and push the bar away. Easy as.

You can still revers launch them which is pretty cool way to do things.

Have had 07, 08 & 09 Fuels.

09 are easier to relaunch. As bobjaan said pull on 1 rear line. Underpowered is harder to relauch. When you have enough power i.e. 15 knots on the 13m it's easy.

The only reason I can think people may say 07/08 are easier to relaunch is with a 5th line - but it is not as quick and takes more mucking around with the cleatable 5th line IMO.
