Hey guys. I was trying some front rolls for the first time today and I seem to be stalling halfway through the rotation and falling onto my stomach...Any pointers? Like kite position, strength of carve, ect? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

This is what i do.... Steer the kite up to about 12 o'clock just as your pop off, as you leave the water throw your front shoulder forward, as you do this pull on your front hand a little, this will steer the kite down and i find that helps pull your through the spin... As you finish your spin stop pulling the kite down otherwise it will pull you around into another spin.
Don't throw your shoulder forward until you have left the water, otherwise you wont pop properly and your spin just wont happen.

Core online magazine has a very good tutorial with a great picture sequence for front rolls.

This is the tute I used. Commit the steps to memory and even act it all out on dry land. I started with nice floaty versions and have moved onto full speed kite at 45 popped version once you lock it in you are a step closer to the elusive Slim...Not that Im there yet :) Have fun and watch your nuts on this one!

I was doing the exact same... those loops hurt too especially when they are deep slow ones and ya land on your side or face ... ha-ha

I found best is when about to boost to do the forward roll use one hand dead center of your chicken loop to send the kite and edge off then, will stop the bar from being pulled in wrong direction as you initiate your turn with your shoulder.... better just under swinging to start with, if the kites stable will slack your lines but not Hindenburg.. (thats dependant alot on kite as much as how you crash and wind factor....) Then splash down and do that till you get the timing, height and push off all down pat... then roll lower and lower without sending the kite, gets more fun... although I think the long floaty loops look nicer the more power lower ones feel better!
