Hey guys, i have not been out in a straight easterly here and its looking that way this coming weekend. I know Altona would be good but i have heard its quite shallow there (like knee deep shallow) is this true?
Im just starting out so i still prefer it a bit deeper.
So im thinking Rosebud or perhaps Inverloch and maybe even Phillip Island.
I know that inverloch is best in s-sw but looking at the inlet i thought maybe it would work in an easterly also?

Point Wilson i guess is another option but i'd prefer the other 3 as I have a house at Inverloch and a friend who lives at Phillip Island and another at Rosebud.
Any advice about Phillip Island would be much appreciated, is there any restrictions around Cowes? where would be the best place to launch?
thanks in advance

easterlies crank down andersons inlet (inverloch) - a good option, but there can also be strong currents due to the tides (make sure you have your real leash ps im joking). So where its deep you can lose your board easily, and the sand bars cover over so you have no tide but shallow water

altona is good on an easterly, go out a little further and its deep, just the first 100m will be shallow - it will be a cross shore wind. make sure you dont self lauch or land and dont be a kook on the beach - get out into the water asap (incidents at this beach are likely to restrict access)

rosebud may be hella gusty

phillip island dont know

have fun
