I wonder if there is any gopro footage of some one tracking big waves?

I haven't surfed it, and have no desire to at my age, but i did walk in (a mission in itself) and checked it out from the cliffs with a big swell but no one out (I was there just after sunrise), and even that was a huge buzz, amazing place.

I answered my own question of the next one, but the wide angle lens make it look about 4 foot!

That Go Pro footage is awesome. I love the bit at 2.00 when he is paddaling like all hell to get out of the imoact zone. GOLD!!

Not that I could / have / will ever go anywhere near any of the "big" waves around the place, but for me that wave takes the cake as the scariest.

And that damned step in the wave that seems to jump out at the riders all the time - as if it needed to be any gnarlier...

Laurie Towners paddle to drop knee finger flip at cloud break is mighty impressive too. Shame on him for not making it.
