I have a 2011 Core GTS kite that I quite like, but it is not particularly powerful. I have been told that the 2011 were not a great year for Core with regards to the gruntiness. I am keen to try other years to see if Core suits me. Can anybody advise on when Core improved?

Spent a bit of time on Gts and Gts 2 last year
Nice smooth kite but a tad spongy in bar feel,
Shortening back lines made it much more direct in feeling, the newer models have a shorter bridle , had a couple of runs on the 3 in good wind and instantly loved the kite, the 4 is hopefully my choice if I've got the coin

Hi Brad sorry to hear about your rib. Had GTS 2 and 3. While I like to very actively move my kites across the sky I needed at least 1 size larger than other comparable open C / bridles C kites to have the same low end grunt. I was also missing a bit of directness which I blame the pulleys for. Found another hybrid C kite which did the trick for me. Last time I saw you you were on the 2013 Vegas. I moved onto what I fly now from Vegas as well. So may understand what you may want to replicate if you liked that feel. Nothing will be as direct as the Vegas. But if you want something which still wants to be flown actively, sined a lot, looped, boosts almost as high and vertically but provides slighlty softer landings, is more versatile, light, 4 lines, working in both flat as well as waves, on both tt as well as sb and foil, self launching and landing easily, etc.
Then look at other similar (to the GTS) kites too, e.g. Enduro, FX, ...
If you like the GTS3 (3 struts) or GTS2 (5 struts) the advantage is you can pick up used once for cheap.

Why not drop into our store, we have all the latest Core kites and have flown them all so can give you good advice. XR4 for freeride and boosting, GTS4 for freestyle and looping, Free for just flat out freeride and wave fun and Section for pure wave kiting. All are excellent fun. Current demo of XR4, GTS4, Free and Section.

Most people who find the GTS range of kites a little under powered generally arent riding them the way they need to be ridden. Fast and aggressive flying makes these kites work beautifully. If you just park and ride then you'll not have a great experience on the GTS as they are a performance technical kite.

It's worth demoing to get it right.

Most perhaps. I do love sining, loop on almost every transition and jump, throw it from 10 to 1 for jumping etc. The opposite of park and ride.
This style requires a nimble and responsive kite. GTS2/3 is ok but not great at this. Hence it is more popular with crossover wakestylers than aggressive freeriders. Anyway, just my personal view and I have been a long time Vegas user hence thought I may have an idea what Brad may be after (apart from having met him).
