Can someone please clear something up for me?

I have 2010 powerdrive IDS Control System and am unsure where the bar should sit when there is full tension on all lines with trim adjusted to full power. I have about 150mm from loop quick release to bar at the moment is this correct? I was watching a video on Cabrinha website "Pro Kit Installation". I don't have the upgrade kit, I just noticed that when they check line length they say the optimal bar setting should be pressed up against the quick release. Otherwise problems like "oversheet" and "backstall" will occur.

I don't have a cabrinha, but I'm pretty sure it would be the same as other kites so it should be right against the chicken loop.

Whenever I get a new kite Rory, I set it so that all 4 lines are of equal length when the sheeting stap is set to full power and the bar is pulled all the way to the chicken loop. Use this as your starting point and if any further adjustments are needed (backstalling kite etc) then change it from there, but with all new kites I've set like this, I haven't had to change it from this setting.

It will change every time you go out. Thats what the trim strap is for.

Park the kite at 45 degrees and pull the bar all the way in. If it stalls, adjust the trim until the stall stops. Then you are trimmed right.

If you have short arms, trim it until you are comfortable with no poo stance.

The problem I had was on the flying line centerline. The Larks head had pulled over the knot and tightened super tight onto the triangle attaching to the depower system. I am new to kitesurfing and didn't see the problem. At first I figured the larks head was supposed to be tight up against the triangle. I soon realised once I was out on the water for the first time that something was up with the settings on my new kite.
Today I adjusted the larks head so it sat tightly on the knot (which I had to move 10cm back as well)and now all 4 lines are even with the control bar just touching the chicken loop.

The lesson I have learnt is always check line lengths before using, especially when buying second-hand gear.
