Have just noticed on my new Custom board that the screws have small cracks around them.
I have only used this board about 6 times and have never made any adjustments to it and it has a bag that it travels in all the time.
Should I take it back as thing may get worse or is it just that the resin has cracked and it's no big deal. (as long as it doesnt chip off)

I had two of the 2011 calibres snapped one replaced under warranty, but both showed crasing of the UV gelcoat. I thought it might have been there as a result of manufacture but the crasing became worse, especially around the fins.
Just a guess but it appears as if the UV coat might be too hard.
I was going to take mine back to where i bought it but traded it in instead.
Also the bottom sheet started to peel back so keep an eye on it.

a couple of very small cracks appeared around one screw on my select.
north replaced the board.
no questions.

Take it back and get a new one.
Mine cracked through even without a screw in it

My bet says you will struggle to find one that doesn't have cracks in it.
Yes it's a defect but i am unsure if it will be replaced. I was over my board pretty quick as I broke one then every time I kited on the replacement something would happen ie snapped fins, screws pulling through the straps, beginning of delam on bottom sheet. Quality definately seems to have dropped 2010 -2011 mates 10 custom in perfect nick after a season I didn't think mine would make it through the season so traded it on a Tempo.

Interesting. I've thrashed my 2010 custom and it's still going strong, albeit with some moderate heel-edge scratches that I've filled. The rrp dropped about $200 from 2010 to 2011. Could this have something to do with a change in materials?

Saw the title of the thread and knew it had to be about cabrinha boards.

Yeah, i've seen NickT's board, there were cracks in the top sheet before it even hit the water.
Really bad quality TT boards this year from cabrinha, the signs were probably there when the Caliber X, carbon fibre rich board, failed to show.

Take it back, get a replacement at the minimum, get a refund if you can,
Otherwise this won't be the last trip back to the shop with this board.
