i tested this theory when i went to hospital to get surgery on my ear!!!
Surfer's ear,too much time in the water surfing ,kite surfing, snorkeling...
The hole in my ear was closed at 92% so it needed to be power drilled.
Now the funny bit

they needed to cut off my ear and fold it back on my cheek prior to the drilling so i had to go onto full anesthetic.
Usually they give you a chemical to make you all drowsy and go unconscious, insert a pipe in your throat to make you breathe artificially then they finally give you a muscle relaxant which will stop your breathing (hence the pipe in your throat before).
Unfortunately[}:)][}:)][}:)]the anesthetist must have had a big night the night before and he mislabeled his chemicals while getting ready and gave me the last chemical first

within 5 seconds i loose the ability to speak then my breathing stops

I panic, start fighting and they hold my legs and tell me to relax and take big breaths

well i never got to this relax stage with the build up of c02,i fought like ##$^% for what felt like minutes, then brought a picture of my kids in my head to kiss them goodbye as i knew i was dying.
Remembered a stroboscope of white light then i gave in and passed away.
Luckily they realise something was wrong when i dropped unconscious and turned blue and finally hooked me up on the machine prior to going ahead with the operation anyway

To cut a long story short i got doctors bringing me cappuccinos in bed with a red face for the next couple of days and now i am out of the water for 3 months reduced to launching my mate at Pinaroo and watch them surf perfect 3 foot Jake's point in Kalbarry!!!
Luckily [}:)]

[}:)]

he is the one who cut his foot (harry surfer) and got an infection so he is out of the water too!!!

ahhh Karma
Anyway Harry Potter, your theory sounds good but didn't work for me
