Eppo - did you use anything for your kid's feet traction? E.g. bit of wax for traction or put a strap in there for his feet?

Mine is 5 years old and desperate to head out (he's been flying a trainer kite since he was 3). Can't wait to introduce him - just got to convince the wife it's safe!

Many years back I was on a work trip and popped into to visit Eppo and we went to the pond. There was a dude ripping around on a SB or race board towing his boy on a boogie board. That looked like fun for the boy.

Pretty sure that was Jas too. Inflatable tyre towing looked fun too

I had my young lad out a few times this season. He's loving it. Lanos was awesome with him all he wanted to do was jump to the moon lol 3 and a half also.
Get him into a toddler manduka carrier it's big enough to carry him with a pfd. They have good weight ratings and are Carrie on the front so least if anything goes wrong u can use the kid as padding :-) Photo above he was 1 can't keep him away from it.
He's confident in the water ie I can hold his head under in the pool or with the jacket on someone can hold him down and he knows to let the jacket float him up. Can hold his own regarding if he's on his front he's able to turn round on his back and float or the other way round. He can kick 50m lengths no stress lol. He's incredible in the pool (diving Under to get his steel car I buy 2 for 5 in REPCO of the hotwheels ones) bed 5 dollar splurges ever put one in my pocket each week and together we go searching for them every time we go in the pool. We don't miss a swim every week and lesson also. Unless it's windy :-)

have patience make sure they are confident. He will be in bed and hear the wind and be like it's windy let's go kiting.

Lucky you and lucky us really. It's not all a wind swept ride of family bliss...trust me. More pain than joy!!

But yeh it is a privilege to share the sport with your child..or any kid.

Go borrow one man and get them on the water! That's the best thing you could do for any kid.

WAX etc, don't complicate it. I've seen you ride Russ, you are well good enough to start taking your kid out...





And then by the age of 11 they are already way better than you've ever been






And they'd rather hang out, ride and learn from ....






And young pond shredders like ...






And you get called "hey old man" and "kook" and just drive around with a stupid senile grin pumping up his kites .....
