Kite, no tears is a good start, your choice of colour, bow, 'c' or hybrid, range of 'de-power' and safety features, avoid single line kites, they don't have much power.
Did I mention a lesson or 2 could be wise, or even taking a 'trainer kite' out for a play first...

I think what you posted is uncalled for an straight out mean. Here's a guy new to the forum asking for genuine advice and you have to go and do that. Bringing in your own personal bias.... surely they deserve to know that even though foot straps can be handy, they are also optional
