bought the 2015 Cabrinha Overdrive 1X QuickLoop control system recently, and am have been really happy with it.

Stupidly though, when trimming my lines on the concrete driveway, I gave it a bit of a drag along. Doh! The concretes abrasiveness sand papered my red "bar bungee", yup that's way they are called.

Took the bar into a shop, saw that yes they are replaceable but couldn't for the life of us workout how this is done.

Can anyone please tell how to get the old bungees out, and install the new ones?

Also are 2016 bar bungee interchangeable with 2015 bars? And apologies, if that's a ridiculously stupid question.

You could do a hybrid repair. The north bungees work on a clip system to join them at the tab. Effectively the bungee bits get clamped together.

You could buy a couple of North tabs and then join your current bungee (or any cord) together again to repair it?

You can buy that stretchy bungee elastic from any material store (lincraft etc), my booties had some in it than snapped, so i replaced it recently. It's dirt cheap (few $ max).

I'm assuming that the bungee, just goes through that hole in the bar and loops?

If so, just cut off the old one, thread your replacement bungee through the hole , slide the black tab from the old one on (assuming it isn't sewn on over the join of the old bungee?) and then use a double fisherman's knot (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_fisherman's_knot) to join the bungee into a loop.

It won't look quite as pretty, but should do the job just fine.

I have replaced mine. They're 2010-2011 models so I don't know if they're the same as yours.

I attached some kite line to the end of the damaged part and pulled it through the hole. If I remember correctly I hand sewed the line to the damaged bit so it would be secure when pulling it. You have to double the line so you have a loop to pull back through.

I then used the kite line to pull some 3mm bungee back through the hole. I used a bit of lube to make it easier to pull through. I used quite a long length of bungee to have plenty to work with. Once it's through you can pull it back and cut it to length. I just tied a knot in the ends. It all ends up very neat (and better than the cheap **** bungee Cabrinha use).

It's not a very good picture but it looks like they have small plastic (?) clips on the end that engage when pushed in. Maybe you need to get a set to see how they lock in before you can find a way to defeat them?
