I put the finishing touches on my go-pro backpack mount today. It's made of 20mm PVC pipe, shaped like a square with two arms that hold the camera away from your back/shoulders and out and above one side. The pipe is glued together with PVC Pipe Cement (if you try this at home, bear in mind this stuff sets in about 15 seconds). A screw-in pipe-end with the go-pro tripod-mount screwed to it provides a (hopefully) secure attachment point. I used four eye bolts for the harness to attach to, and I made the straps out of some webbing from buckles from Spotlight.
Now for some wind to test it out! An initial run through the house and around the backyard went well, the footage is pretty stable and the angle is interesting. To be continued...
