Thinking of heading down to Australind for a sess over the weekend and taking the family, wife who kites as well.
Questions:
Whats it like ?
Where do you launch ?
Whats the wind like compared to say up in Perth?
Is it ok for intermdiate kiters (wife) if she has to walk back up from going down wind for whatever reason?
Advice and knowldege of the area would be welcomed.
Cheers

no crabs yet - just a few babies, quite a few sting rays and for the first time there is little weed so the water is quite clean and pretty warm. been a few good sessions lately

Plenty of room to kite. Launch just north of the car park next to the BP petrol station. Large grassed area there. Water is shallow for at least the first 300-400m out. Bitey things? Have spent plenty of time on the water both sailing and paddling and see very few. Have even walked large parts of it when the wind has dropped or between cold front lulls and touch wood have not been bitten/stung. Wind is usually lighter than Perth. However Sat and Sun looking a bit southerly. Keep an eye on the graphs over the next few days.
As for restrictions on sailing spots - just keep your kite out of the gardens & trees of the houses on the foreshore soth of that spot.
