A vigorous cold front south of the Bight is expected to reach Western Bass Strait this afternoon and Central Bass Strait this evening before passing through eastern Bass Strait early Wednesday.

Gale warning for Port Phillip
Winds: West to northwesterly up to 35/40 knots with gusts to 55 knots at first this evening. Seas: 2 to 2.5 metres.
