Yea, in a nutshell, a lot of money for an old kit. im guessing '07 or '08 please correct me if im wrong. Good kite in the day but had its day, could justify the price a little more if the kite was bigger but its only a 7m, though i would love to see that board out there, psychedelic!! Im also hoping it comes with a bar as well as 'strings'

I had a good chuckle the other day when I saw a couple of guys walking back upwing in about 25kts with their SS link, and pickle fork board. I was keeping an eye out to see if they were going to head out again, but disappointingly they packed up and headed home.

ive still got that kite in an 8.5! i used it twice and ended up buying a 12m bow kite about a month later. those things were no good for beginners.. Its still in my shed somewhere, i pulled it out about a year ago and its still crispy! ill have to give it a crack one day to see how she flies, i remember it being really fast....

... I think the kite is even older, roughly '04 or '05 from memory!

i rode the 7 and the 9 and they were fine, especially the 7
even by todays standards

Okin - The chuckle was at the thought of them paying for such items, not the good, bad or indifferent of the kite or board. Obvious noobs (2 guys, one kite, one board), so I doubt they were righteous retro dudes. If you like the link, I've got a couple of 06 fuels to unload!

The kite's worth $50 as an investment for future collectability - if in mint condition & complete.
I would have guessed 03-04 model.
The board - well a shop wouldn't give you $100 trade on it.

Also the safety will be fairly primitive - ie no real safety. "Depower" that drops 20% of the power, and maybe a wrist leash, which were prone to popping off your wrist (better than breaking it I suppose).
