I lost my lines to my DNA and im a poor bugger cause I cant save for (insert expletive of choice here)...

Soooo...rather than spending $450 on new lines and control system for my kite...Can I cannabilise another kite? I cant use my Naish obviously... But Im thinking of buying another size up DNA or similar Airush kite...wanting some professional knowhow it all DNA's use the same control system? i think its one of the smaller bars (not the gigantic ones...).

Basically, If I buy a DNA 9m (07 or 08) can I use the system and lines on my 6?

The short answer is Yes. Any four line bar will work. Just make sure the lines are all equal length.

Like Corey said any 4 line bar will work , however the preferred set up for the DNA is to have the cleat on the chickenloop so that you can sheet out the bar a long way . Rather than the old short depower line and the strap above it .

Yes All DNA's have the same bar set up doesn't matter what year . The 9m will come out with a slightly longer bar, 50cm I think and the 6m comes with a 45cm .
It won't make much difference , you will just have more bar than you need on the 6 .

If you have the 2007 DNA, all DNA's came out with the same sized bar, they were totally interchangeable with all sizes. We opted for bigger bars for the 12m to increase the turning speed but other than that, the rest were all the same bars.

I think the 2008 DNA's came out with different bar sizes, but the 6m and 9m share the same bar size, the 12m bar was upgraded to a longer bar from standard. The 12m came standard with a 55cm and the 9 and 6 with a 45cm.

As the boys said, the DNA bar functions best with the cleat on the chicken loop as at the end of the throw where the pulley is, would be far too far to reach on another bar setup.

Ask around, I know of a few people who have broken lines and replaced the set and have spares laying around.

And the answer to your final qustion is YES, the bars are interchangeable between models. If you are after a 12m 08, we are selling off our old school kites and I also have a brand new 12m in stock for sale.
