As nicfpv wrote, the plan is to get a carbon monobloc, not aluminium - I wish I had done the same when starting out!

I now use a gong curve MT with monobloc carbon 70 mast for kitefoiling waves, I had used the curve L and Aly mast before that but the MT on the carbon is much more responsive and the whole setup is very rigid.

The MT with the kite tail is fun! Very responsive for carves, plus you can just about stop still on a turn, then a couple of pumps and you're cruising again. I find it very stable. On a wave, as long as you keep weight on the front, it just keeps going faster, or, cutback and stay nearer the pocket!

Under a kite, it makes wingdingers on HA Armstrong foils look like they're standing still to


Up to 18 knots I use a 10m kite ( I'm nearer 90kg than 85). Over 18 knots is surfboard conditions!

I use the same monobloc with a LT for surf foiling (only sups call it prone!).
