Hey there....I want to eventually be able to travel with a foil and surfboard so I have more lightwind options available to me. Because I live in a bay we don't get too much surf and it's easy to avoid whitewash getting out. However, places I would like to kite will be on open beaches. When one is headed out how do you navigate white wash on the way out. I am riding a strapless Paipo. I am debating on shaping a board with straps, but would like to be able to just ride strapless. Not sure if I want to get into jumping with a foil, but it does intrigue me. Any thoughts or help would be awesome. Cheers

My experience--just ride through it. Bobbles around a bit, and feels like you're riding over a rough surface but if you keep your feet "light" on the board, it's just normal riding.

The hardest bit is the body dragging. Front strap makes it easy. Hold the foil by the front strap like a shield. Let your shoulder and body take the force of your board when the white wash hits.

Once up just slice through any waves. If they are too big.... not sure strapless. I'm strapped so I slice through, jump out the other side and keep riding.

If you have a bit of wind look for a deep gutter and rip. Time it as a wave just passes, straight onto the foil and ride high over the sand bar through the wash and don't look back.
