Was just wondering were to get my hands on a race board for a day to try it out . I live in Sydney on the northern beaches . I am off the water at the moment due to foot injury from kite surfing and might not be able to boost big airs anymore so have to move away from twin tips . Is there anywhere i can hire a race board or do i just bye a second hand one ?

Plenty of second hand boards around but if you can get down to Botany Bay this Saturday and the kitepower race series is on. There will be a crew on race boards there. Dave and Matt from kite and sup have a north demo and also a few really good second hand north boards too. I'm sure kitepower will have a board to demo.

Hey also NSWKBA owns two 2010 (maybe 2011 4 fin model) boards which I'm sure you can also try out for a day. One is at KP and the other WSS i believe :) But try demo a 2012 board as they are much easier to ride :)

I notice that some schools in Asia are now doing intro to race board courses. such as here:

www.kiteboardtour.asia/race-centres/

Anyone here in Aus running such a thing? would certainly help getting more people into the sport.

Dave and Matt from kite and sup on Lake Macquarie have been giving lessons on race boards. I'm positive if you give them an email they an arrange something. Had a try a race board day last weekend. Really pushing to get new guys into it here in Newcastle. Get some numbers together and they would run a clinic I'm sure.

Hey guys, Mat here from Lake Macquarie (Kite and SUP). As AGK said Dave and I would love to run a race clinic to help build the racing scene in Australia. If your keen at all send us an email info[at]kiteandsup[dot]com[dot]au and we will try to make it happen.
Re DVDs for raceboards, I don't think there are any out as yet but there are some small videos available on the net for different things like tacking and gybing which can help you improve when not out on the water so do a bit of searching and see what you can find.
Cheers.

I made a youtube playlist of all the "useful" kite racing videos I've come across:

Some are race highlights or full races and some are tips.
