Since my foil journey started I've constantly been amazed at just how much there is to learn.
I started riding strapless a while back after another foot injury, my 4'6" DC was awesome with straps on but without them it felt like a boat.
So it was time to down size, a good mate gave me Pocket board to ride that he had made. I was instantly in love with the freedom of this small magic carpet. The only thing that came into mind was wow this thing is so much fun.
It just felt right a better connection to the foil and water.
My confidence grew as it felt way easier to manage the board in the water.
So if your thinking should I get a smaller foil board I say do it I don't think you will regret it.

Here is a link to a pretty nice little pocketboard. I have the Nang 1000. It's pretty handy. I ride strapless, but I had inserts put into this one as I am going to have a few punts on my foil this year and see how that works....www.thecarbonco.net/

Dafish, I started my pocket board journey on a carbon co. A Nang 100 love the board. But I'm a tragic slingshot fan so I just got the micro DC.

I also have a DC 4 6, I just bought an Armstrong foil with 1200 and 800 wings (replaced my Axis 680), it's a much smoother and more dynamic ride so suddenly the board feels big.
I'm thinking about buying the DC Micro 3 6 or Nang 100 carbon with inserts. I'm also a fan of Slingshot boards having had many over the years without issue, but like the idea of supporting a local Australian builder and the Nang looks good but nobody has them down here and not much info on their web site regarding different build specs.

Would it be possible to weigh both boards ?

I'd like to get the lightest rig possible.

I fully agree regarding pocket boards. I also have been using a Dwarfcraft 4'6" which has been great . But after using my 112cm home built board, I find it hard to see myself ever using this board except in maybe the most marginal winds. Throwing the small board around for gybes and 360s is just effortless. The connection I feel to the foil is really enhanced. I'm so impressed I've started building a 100cm pocket board.

I sold my 4'6" I don't think I'll ever need it. Ive been out on pocket boards for a while now and find no problem with getting up in light wind or nose diving.
Love the small board strapless feel suits me.
