Any interested in joining us at Jervoise Bay Sailing Club (Woodies) are more than welcome. We race most Sundays in super clean conditions from the club, meeting at 12 noon. First race is usually 1.05, and we normally get 3 races in.

Freeride foilers who rave with us do 1 or 2 laps to the race foilers' 3 laps.

Support boats are on the water and the bar is open after racing.

Those wanting to just watch are encouraged to jump on a support boat and check it our first hand.

I'll definitely try to drag my kook foiling arse down there in the next few months. I can gybe like a god but can't tack yet.

Yep, this is a bloody fantastic way to take your foiling to the next level. There is no need to have the latest or fastest foils or kites. Just grab a mate and come along with your current gear and enjoy a spin around the course. There is usually someone at or just above your level to duel with to make it interesting and competitive.

Not even all the PRO race guys can tack and gybe consistently, but it will be a good way to learn the importance of gybing and tacking. The club is friendly and welcoming and the JBSC is a great location to hang out, especially after racing when the bar is open.

I've recently started racing with the club and have learned a heap from the guys and just from being out there. Nothing to lose and no cost to start.

Very addicted to foil racing now.

Oh wow. This sounds so good. I have only just bought my first foil, haven't even gotten up on it yet, and this excites me no end.

How ridiculously lucky are we, so many different ways to enjoy this sport.

Hi Swavek, sure! Anywhere there are people like myself who are happy to spend time and coach. I spent half an hour at Melville giving tips and advice to several newbies to foiling. They were at various stages of learning.

Usually you only need a couple of tips to reach your next goal. I had some tips from pros when I was learning tacking and it helped me.

I think any competent foiler will gladly share some time with you if you just ask. I've learned through experience, not everyone wants help if offered, but I'm always willing to assist, as I'm sure most others are too, especially after their session if they have time.

I'll be happy to run some regular foil basics clinics to anyone who buys foiling gear from ActionSportsWA once the winds ease up a bit. Whether or not you buy from ASWA, I'm happy to assist if you see me on the beach. Just ask ??
