Anyone tried the hyperlink? I know all there is from reading about it but keen to hear feom other who have flown it.

Hoping to bridge 8-14 knots on foil board with the 9m and possibly longer lines.

I currently use either a 8m or 10m Cabrinha FX for these conditions.

Scared if i drop it and cant relaunch that it will sink in the middle.of the bay. Apoarently there is an emergency pack down procedure to avoid this?

I've had the 9m Hyperlink for about a dozen sessions now with the foilboard. I haven't tried it in under 12knts but if your able to use a10m FX in 8knts I am sure you'll have no problem, although I would have reservations for myself. I've had several collapses and had to water relaunch numerous times with no problems. Thats always been in solid wind strength and the game may change when in low marginal or very light wind.
I have my best sessions on the 9m Hyperlink in 17- 18knts but its still fun in 12ish knts.
If you really only want it for low wind conditions a 12m might be the go. Ozone also make a LW version of the Hyperlink which they suggest for experienced users.
They whole foil kite thing is way less troublesome than some indicate (at least that is my experience so far with the Hyperlink) and way more fun than I had predicted.

Snalberski, I'm still wondering about what size hyperlink to get. I'm 80 kg and will use only for foiling and want it to work 8-14 knots. I'm mean lulls to 8 knots.
I'm looking at UL version.

"Local "dealer says the 9m is right even after I challenge him. Others are saying the 12m.
I'm trying to replace my North Mono 12m which actually works good in 10-14 knots. But looking for more performance and smoother power in those winds. I'm into Freeriding and cruising around.

Sounds like you are not getting enough from the 9m in 8-12 knots??

I would say for sub 10 upto mid teens a 12m would be best, in fact i would like one myself. The power delivered by equivalent LEI is similar, but delivered much more consistently and evenly . Sort of like a power band that is set much lower. I have never tried the 12m but I would guess you would be nicely solid at 10 and lit at 15. Has your local dealer been using a 9m Hyperlink in those conditions with a foilboard, or even at
all ?

if you got the 12m to cover you for the light wind, how good is the depower and could you take it up to 14 knots?

I read / hear that foil kites and the hyperlink can significantly depower with minimal affect on flying characteristics / performance.

I really only want to buy one hyperlink so i dont know if its better to go slightly smaller 9m or slightly bigger 12m given the huge 3m gap in available sizes...

14 knts on a 12m Hyperlink would be no problem, in fact seeing a pic of Antoine from JShapes doing a huge boost foiling with a 12m Hyperlink in 14-15 knts is what got me interested in the Hyperlink in the first place
