I'm trying to rationalize my kite quiver (again!) for foiling and twin tip riding. For an intermediate skill level in choppy water (70kg rider) what would be the top end of 12m one strut kite like Mono or ultra or any other? reason for this question is I'm considering Ozone hyperlink since it has better bottom end and can work with a twin tip better since its got better upwind potential. Trying to have one kite for 6kts to 15kts so perhaps a 12m hyperlink would be a better option, say start foiling around 6-8kts and then when it 14kts switch to twin tip?

The Zeeko Notus Air 12m would top out for foiling at around 12-14 knots the 8m is sweet from that to about 22knots.
soon there will be a 15m that I can't think of the silly winds it would be nice in. Obviously there are some serious light wind Freeride Foilers out there.

Sounds like a plan but 6 knts would be ambitious (for me). Ozone also make a LW version of the Hyperlink.

line length will be a big factor in top and low end .. im thinking around the same lines as you and probably want to build a longer bar (55cm ish) with 15 or 30 m race lines depending on top or low end if ur investing in the quite pricey hyperlink (or even ultralight version) I would think about what types and length of lines too after all thats what the racers use to hold down bigger kites on the foil and they are probably the experts in that regard

The ultra 12m gets me going from 6-7 knots on the foil BUT only when using my 35m bar (thin race lines). Over 10 knots I start using normal lines but max out at about 14 knots. Over 10 knots I much prefer using a 9m ultra and over 15 knots smaller sizes like 5m.

A foil kite will give you a similar performance providing you are a skilled foil kite pilot...this may take some time. Foil kites will give you better upwind performance but generally speaking less depower.

If you really want to tackle sub 10 knots conditions you should consider making a custom bar with longer, thinner lines.
