Anyone sail with a kid onboard or does it become too hard?

totally - they love it!

you do need to be well powered without kid. as their extra weight does change the dynamics a bit.

the new light wind free ride directionals make it so easy. kids can hang 5 - you can even gybe with them.

if you stack in deep water it is a bit tricky to get everything co ordinated get board get kid... get everyone/thing in position. kids need to be super comfortable in deep water. as you and the board go down wind much faster than them. so may require a quick tack back up to get them.

every time i go kiting they want to come along. when the conditions are right there is nothing better than sharing your stoke with them - you should have hear the hoot from my son when he lent out and dropped a hand into the face of a wave we were riding - hooked for life!!!

Looks like huge fun on a Sector. I would not be so keen on doing it on a proper race board. Those fins would go through kid skin like a knife through butter.

Did it with my 4yo on a sailboard. Got so carried away, I completely overlooked the end game, .... what to do when we came to the gybe. Needless to say I swept the poor blighter off the board and into waist deep water (on him).
He was well bought up though and came up spluttering, ...."DAD YOU SAID IF I WENT OUT ON THE BOARD WITH YOU, I WOULD NOT DROWN!!!!"
