Nobile have a split foil board that looks to split into 2 sections of 2'6" or 75ish cm. Might be worth a look, I haven't used one so can't speak for it's quality or how it rides. the Model name off the top of my head is the Infinity split foil or something along those lines.
If someone has tried one and could give a review as well, I'd be interested to read what its like!
Interesting. This might just work. I will email them and ask for exact specifications. If it's not too wide, it might just fit in a normal suitcase... although it is 4.7kg... my current board is 3kg, and (altogether) I am currently at around 25kg with my bags. So this might not work, as I need to get it even lighter (which I was hoping to do through buying a smaller board).

This is what ****s me as someone who travels a lot. Got a big heavy bag of golf clubs? No problem. No charge, even though they are on maximum weight. Got a surfboard/snowboard/whatever craft you ride, chances are you are going to get hit along the way. There is so much inconsistency to this rule that no matter what you do, there are always going to be a little surprise or two on a multiple flight journey.
That is exactly the reason why I am looking to get a 70cm board :-) I am completely fed up and just want everything to go inside a normal suitcase that never gets flagged by any airport staff who don't know what their own rules are.
My 155g plastic surf helmet got destroyed a month ago because it was "too dangerous to take on as carryon" so I had to check it. Except my 1kg aluminium laptop with sharp edges and an explosive battery are perfectly fine to take onboard? ****ing ridiculous.
