I've found when I move the control lines to the lighter bar pressure position(further up the wingtip) I feel like I lose power, get a bit more high wind control and maybe gain some upwind, some of my kite mates dont agree.

I was wondering what's the racing standpoint on this situation.

Kites are cab switchys 2010.
