So fellow axonians, anyone with some real life experience on the best combo with the 900 high aspect front wing for pumping back out to the waves when prone surfing. I've got the old long fuselage and the 440 back / 75 cm mast.

ultra short / new 370 ? What's the overall stability like with that setup? I can nearly pump back out any loss of speed or one irregular pump and I can't recover.

anyhow thought I'd throw it out there to the people experimenting with this stuff. cheers in advance.

Cant pump for **** but I know the guys who can prefer a shorter fuse. Jas may have one you can try.

Yeh hilly onto it. Just thought someone whose gone through the same long to short fuse evolution could give some insight. And the interplay with the back wing as well. They are all going this small 370 thing as well

Hey mate , I've got the exact same set up as you & starting to pump back out a lot better,, its all practice , sussing the right pumping technique,
going shorter ( fuse ) or smaller ( rear wing ) will not be at an advantage . If you can come off the back of the wave with speed & stay up high your winning,, Always hard to get back up if board hits the water , but can be done with a lot of exersion ,,the good guys are using the shorter fuses & smaller rear wings because they have already sorted their pumping technique & then want a looser feel on the wave. Ive already swapped fuses & rear wings around & noticed you need different pumping techniques for all combos,, there's a lot in it aye! crazy stuff . But how much fun is it when it all comes together!

I've had a bunch of stuff to play with this trip...
1020, 900, secret, 820, 750, 680, 660 wings, 4 different stabs, and short and ultra short fuselages...

Shorter fuse is more loose, noticeable in yaw while trying to ride a straight line. It wants to play. I felt less happy attempting high speed runs competed to the regular and 500 stabilizer though...

I found pumping much easier with the ultra short compared to regular, but I was only experimenting because I remembered you asking about it

For kiting I bought Short fuselage and 370 stabilizer. Challenging but not impossible for technical balance things like changing feet, but oh so much fun hacking and slashing.

Righto fabe if you are linking waves up then I will just keep practising. Still reckon the biomechanics of a shorter fuse for easier pumping makes sense (especially recovery wise when you lose speed and or make a wrong pumping action)

but if you are doing it then no excuses.
