one side will repet " you know "

Anyway, next time you listen to radio conversation
try to pickup the world tell me...

repetitive pattern doesn't really depend on education - I could hear the same from our MP , famous author or plain bloke.. man or women
If you are still not convince , lets substitute that word with other most common like S88t, F88CK and test yourself how it fit into conversation

on another hand I started now to appreciate , value highly those interlocutors that manage avoid annoying word,
don't need to ask constantly if you are not idiot or still awake

I'll add "incredible". if you describe something as incredible you're asking listeners not to believe it.
An obituary I skimmed thru a little while ago described the departed as "an incredible journalist".

Hope they didn't etch that on his tombstone.

I would say none at all. I try to listen to very informational channels , with cohort of high quality authors, invited guests, presenters with abundance PhD tittles,
Like ABC, channel you know obviously, that is incredible understated, you know. Abundance of you knows is the same as on regional chatter, culinary receipts exchange ., obviously.
But
I am quite tolerant to prolonged Aaaaa, sign somebody try to think before next sentence pop up.
Aeeeeee, something else, should say. Nothing comes to mind so I quit here.....

When I was taught public speaking it was made clear that what feels like two minutes of dead air while you regain focus to continue your passage is usually less than two seconds and is far more appealing than like and um but

I'm with Macro on this one. If the person you're saying "you know" does know, then STFU 'cause they already know. If you're just saying "you know" to fill time, then stop trying to work as a radio journalist and get another job.

In the sailing season I have to deliver a report on the local radio every week or two. It's not hard to work out what you are going to say, in a way that means you don't have to repeat "you know" every sentence.

And Pyscho's point is probably also dead right.

Short silence in speech is great, but in car driving situation its mean i hit the hole in radio waves again,

I am surprised how bad is FM reception on my way to farm, even passing Brisbane my favorite ABC classics escape...
So I need to switch to AM to have cover over most of the distance.

Radio problems in the car on a long drive is easily fixed with podcasts. There are tonnes of people making them and some of those people seem to know even more about stuff than Seabreezers. .... you know

The amont of people that say something but ending with a K.

Makes me want to hurt them or somethink.

What annoys me is when people begin their response to a question with "LOOK".
I appreciate it is some sort of tick to begin talking but really they should say Listen because after they say LOOK, they just talk...nothing to see but just another person with bad england talking.
