I think you may have misinterpreted the original post. "Do your own research" was the catch cry of the CT mob during COVID and has become a meme in itself. It's now shorthand for those who do searches on the internet and end up with pile of opinions that are then being presented as fact. Here is an example to try to make the point. It is not meant to be funny.
