What you mean, on the handle or something on the shaft?

If shaft -

Fishing rod grip heatshrink (have to remove handle of course)
Cricket bat etc grips (a/a)
strip of self adhesive EVA, about 1" wide, wrapped around like doing a hockey stick / tennis racquet handle etc.
