The news is all bad boris.
Miles of nice muddy mangrove flats, probably with the occasional crocodile on tour.
It's not good for kites or windsurfers anywhere up that way.

try posting again in the kitesurfing forum. there are places to kite in karratha and dampier and if you have a boat there are plenty of great spots on the islands too.
maybe go down to hampton harbour on a sw'er to hook up with local crew

Boris, your best bet is to go to Dampier town beach. That is where most kite and windsurfers sail. I windsurfed there many years ago. At the time a mate did quite a bit of kiting there as well. Keep an eye on the wind and head down to Dampier when the wind comes in. You should definitely meet up with a few crew.
Other options for sailing on the right wind includes Hearson's Cove and heading down to Cossack and going out at the beach there. Also look at getting a boat and heading out to the islands off Dampier - there are some great spots to explore and sail at/
Have a search on the kiting forum as this topic has been covered a few times before.
All the best with the wind.
