Email rec'd today:

Hi there, We are currently going through our newsletter emailing list as it has been sometime since we have reviewed it. We have unsubscribed all emails from our list as we do not wish to send our newsletter to people who don't want to receive them. We are wanting to establish a healthy list as we began the list over 6 years ago and realise that some people no longer are interested. If you do wish to continue to receive newsletters from Atlasworxs in order to stay up to date with our news and products, please either go to our website to site up again or follow the link below. We do apologise for the inconvenience but it is important for us to have a healthy mailing list. Thanks once again for your time and interest in Atlasworxs

Nah, don't believe this email, what really happened was the work experience kid in the IT department merged the active email addresses with the unsubscribe list by accident resulting the above email written by the CEO. :)

Probably only because they're in the unique situation where they know everyone on their mailing list is armed!

Yep but particularly when the IT guy is the CEO, there is only a mobile number for contact and no address

Usual suspects.

Who gives a crap what the company is, I respect the etiquette displayed in the email. The thought that counts....

IanR just cos its a one man band doesn't mean anything, he's a very talented CNC machinist and his work is highly regarded. I gather u also think all other CNC blokes are equally ' dangerously on edge' or something? Or maybe all tradies with "just a mobile number and no address" are not worthy of your respect? Yeah just a mobile number is dodgy as hell....
Usual judgmental rubbish from you.

Back on topic- a nice person wants to NOT spam people. I think its nice.

A nice person who wants to NOT spam people BY SPAMMING them. lol
You have been sucked in and are now advertising for him for free, his plan is working like a treat.

And yes,, just a mob's number and no fixed address dose sound suss as and make most people with common sense think twice about dealing with them, especially when it has to do with weapons,,, this guy might go postal,, who knows? don't even know where he operates out of????? Iran ???

You can judge a company by how it handles it's email list.

Here's my pro tip: say you're looking at buying something significant & have narrowed it to 3 options. Join all of their mailing lists & wait 2 weeks. You'll more than likely get some kind of discount offer from at least one of them you can use on your purchase.

Then unsubscribe to them all. You can totally judge their attitude to customers from the unsubscribe process.

If it's one click from their last email, they put you first & would most likely honour warrantees etc.

If they make you log in to "update email settings" then they value the chance you'll give up unsubscribing due to the hassle more than they value you. They are likely to do the minimum legal to uphold their end of the transaction but make it difficult if anything goes wrong.

If the unsubscribe link doesn't work, or the emails keep coming, they were likely to rip you off anyway.

comprehension not your strong point? They UNsubscribed everyone who had already VOLUNTARILY joined over many years. It is now an opt-in again.

Kinda like when Laurie very nicely emails us asking if our gear is still for sale, and a nice link to keep it in the classifieds. OMG Laurie is a terrorist.

Anyway I appreciate it, as every company I have emailed asking a question then adds you to their list. You ask if the product is suitable for an application, ascertain is IS NOT and say OK thanks but it won't work for me...... then they continue to email about their crap forever.
I repeat I think this is a nice bloke and gold standard. The irony is the trolls keep going on as they are quite the opposite of this fella. Hint hint Loto and Ian...

Atlasworxs have a damn fine reputation, and like many of the specialist firearms manufacturers he doesn't like his address being too obvious.
[he doesn't only make firearms stuff either - you name it, he can make it.]

Also - like a lot of small operators, too much time can be wasted on frivolous enquiries from tyre kickers.

One mobile number and simple email helps reduce unproductive time

No Mark it's the people that buy tactical bits for their guns that are likely to go postal
English Comprehension is not big with you is it.
How did you imagine that that I think all CNC machinists are dangerous

^^^ tongue in cheek because it is ludicrous - just like everything else you said there. You never miss a chance to have a go.

Ian don't you agree it was nice for a business to try and reduce spam? Stop frothing about the fact they are a niche manufacture of one tiny little gun part - among all other stuff they make. It is nice to have people try and reduce spam isn't it.
