Have recently completely ruptured my pcl ( grade 3 tear ) and as there are few surgeons who can properly perform the surgery am after some recommendations. The first gp I saw sent me to a knee and shoulder surgeon who doesnt even do reconstructive surgery.

Perth Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Centre is highly regarded within the medical community itself. Certainly their website suggests that they have several specialists who could put you back together. Might be worth some research ?

I ended up there for my shoulders ( impingement syndrome, tendon tears and rotator cuff damage) and have seen Dr. Keith Holt. As other posts on Seabreeze have suggested, he is a man of few words but is " right up there" as far as his professional reputation goes amongst his peers. His care for me so far has been excellent and everything is healing well.

A couple of years ago, son saw Peter Honey in West Perth about torn shoulder after falling off wave at poo pipe. Again a man of very few words and immediate action, but the results were good.

Not sure how he is for PCL. Footy injury? Try for information from one of the footy clubs?

You are insured? Better do it soon before they all go to Europe.

I can recomend Kieth Holt as well he did an acl reconstruction for me 15 years ago and it went really well took a full 12 months to fully recover however

I had gone to Subiaco Sports Medicine Clinic to see Dr Scott Isbel, who gave me the names of 3 top shoulder surgeons to consider....I did my research from there.

I was amazed that after my right shoulder surgery + Hospital + Anaesthetist, total bill approx $6500, my out-of-pocket was less than $150. I had just changed to HBF a month before and it appears that the surgeon, the anaesthetist and the Hospital are all "Preferred Providers". It made a pleasant surprise as I had not chosen Keith Holt knowing this.....I had gone on his reputation.....just the dice fell favourably for a change.

Yep, the sons and wife also know the Subiaco Sports Medicine Clinic at SJOG. Sons have received good advice there with footy injuries.

Osteo is not a cheap operation (was 2 operations with the removal of the pin). But maybe compared to heart ops, not too bad.

Son was told at Charlie's emergency to leave it to repair and come back in a year if not satisfactory. Might have repaired itself ....... maybe. But it looked unsightly. Good luck wattsy86 ..... get it going now though, just to sort out the options.

We have also used Colin Whitewood and Clem McCormick at Hollywood.
