Hi, first post but not a happy one. But maybe it will have a happy ending but not holding my breath… Travelling from Sandy point to Melbourne yesterday (Thrs 14th Jan) and somehow lost my Corbean Bomb SUP, my cousin’s surfboard and roof racks from my Subi!! Boards were all good up to Kurumburra (checked at servo), so incident probably happened at about 6pm on the South Gippsland Hwy/A440 between Kurumburra and Loch. Local police received information about boards being seen at the side of the road. However, later investigation found nothing. Maybe the boards will be trashed anyway, but they were both in nice padded bags, so who knows? but thought it worth a general post a. to see if anyone out there has found them and b. to say to everyone-make sure you check your roof rack is super secure before strapping anything on!

Hey mate, I hope you find that gear again. That's a huge self-WTF moment! Shame people that obviously find other people's gear don't simply go straight to the cops with it, unless the cops themselves are hiding it!? What's that 30 day if no one claims, it's yours bull****?

Jeeez, I hope the massive projectile travelling at 100 kph on a highway didn't kill anyone! Who fitted the racks? Bloody dangerous situation.

Sorry to hear you delmar. I see a few lessons learned here

1. Roof racks MUST be quality
2. roof racks must be properly secured (cheap ones fail to do that no matter how often you adjust them)
3. Turn you stereo down so to can hear the **** that's going on outside i.e. strange noises etc.
4. clean windows and mirrors so they do their job
5. continue to scan mirrors and strange noises

Good luck getting them back mate. There are some honest people out there so hope the right ones found your boards and they are returned

It's a small thing but I always load my boards so I can see the nose, so I could maybe see if it's lifting or something's just not right.
