Ok let's talk about our American (USA) cousins.

What is going on with their cooking shows and their use of 'erbs?
Do they ride their orses to the ouse?

Maybe the h is silent, as it is in idiot.

To and too
There, their and they're.

Makes anyones argument useless if they've used the wrong word. So many people just don't know the differences.

You missed a full stop.

Your arguement is useless.

I know it's not grammar, but incorrect use of terminology. I can't stand sports people saying "the heat of battle". It's a game. It starts and finishes when the clock runs out. No-one is intentionally killed or maimed. There is someone in control of proceedings. Thankfully I have never been 'in battle', but have a bit to do with those that have.
Feel better for having a rant.

Me and my wife, no, it's my wife and I.

Someone will probably say my use of commas is wrong.

What about apostrophies when denoting plural, ie. cd's. Seems prevalent in hifi stores.

should the above be comma's

You don't get points for saying I when me is correct. Say the sentence without including the other person to check.

and how often do we hear "we were decimated"?

decimated = 1 in 10 executed, to set an example for other potential malingerers, cowards, or for failing to obey orders.

It's perfectly acceptable to say the value of "x" increased by 400%, meaning four times.
