I have some broken carbon bike parts and I'm wondering if there is a "proper" way to dispose them?
A quick search on the internet tells me they should just go into bin but I wanted to check here before I send them to landfill.
Any ideas?

Don't think they have any recycle value.
Don't think there's any toxicity problem.
My biggest worry with it, is carbon splinters.
I doubt there's any problem with landfill, but I'm no expert on the matter

+1

Can't recycle the resins, carbon is carbon so why burn off the resins to get carbon again..... and its two of the most inert things known to man combined into a tube so I'd chuck it and feel fine about the environment

Unless there is a carbon bike repairer who may benefit from sections to use in repairing frames, if your bike is common and worth $$?
Well, WAS worth $$$ and he may like the bits

Thanks, that's what I thought. I am not too concerned about any $$$, but to do the right thing for the environment

Cool

If its a $10K frame in two or three pieces, I'll have it

it's not quite that expensive but it is in pieces - it was a warranty replacement (the old frame had a small crack) and they wanted me to cut the old frame in half before they shipped a replacement.
it's a full suspension MTB frame and both triangles are cut into two pieces. There is a carbon fibre repairer near where I live and I had a chat to him about potentially putting it back together but decided it wasn't worth it.
