That's probably a fair call FN, I don't know the rules. Can you work with a student visa?

Most definitely. As far as I recall, up to 20 hours a week. Officially.

A cynical person would say that a lot of these 'English Colleges' or hundreds of other skill colleges exist solely to allow students to enrol in a course in Australia, so that the students can work here.

Again, without proof, I have met a few international students that work behind bars and coffee shops, and attend a school somewhere. Some with excellent English skills come here to study English. To be honest, if I was in Indonesia, and I wanted a better life, I too might do this and try and settle in Australia by finding someone.

I actually like this form of immigration. Its for low level jobs, and is similar to the way Australians should be working overseas.

Not really but kinda.
202 bored out to 209ish and put all XU1 racing gear in it.
190 on the straight between Scabs and Cities. Had so much compression that at night when you took your foot off the excellerator and looked in the rear view mirror, you'd see the flashes of orange.
I remember driving around for a few months with just the pacemaker extractors on it.

Hey Greenie, roughly when was this??
Once upon a time, a young bloke who might have looked like a younger version of me drove ["piloted" according to several wallopers and a magistrate] a 1972 V6 Ford Capri.
Capri was fairly stock-ish.......
apart from the custom suspension, home-brew motion lotion [benzine/nitroethane] on a change-over tap and water injection to help tame the ponies.
Sometimes the carbies were poking through the bonnet, and behind my pacemakers there was a set of custom mufflers that had baffles which folded flat when you hit 4500rpm

Early hours of one morning, said young bloke may have allegedly been going just a tad more than the proscribed speed limit on scarb. beach road - as was a rather lumpy sounding Kingswood wagon.
Kingswood missed a gear, and went kaboom in a big way just short of the freeway overpass.

I actually like this form of immigration. Its for low level jobs, and is similar to the way Australians should be working overseas.

Generally the kids studying come from rich parents. They do study some odd courses to stay in AU and they pay a fortune for these courses. But it's a road to nowhere as the visa that replaced the 457 system is complex and much harder to lead to permanent residency (if they can find a sponsor). They tend to work in CBD areas, where no Australians apply for job.

We've actually got a pretty good system from my perspective.
