Surely, this is the worst season in my 25 years in Perth.
Temperature appear fairly normal but the usual wind is not here.

My understanding was that during summer the land mass is warmed up by the sun so the air rises and the cooler air over the ocean fills the gap by rushing from the ocean towards the land (Freo Doctor).

Can anyone explain why the air is still warm on land but the wind is nowhere to be seen.

Is there any actual proper record of daily wind to demonstrate if it is actually the worst season ever or am I just frustrated from the isolation and desperate for wind?

Let us know if you have the data.

Firstly this should probably be in the kite or windsurf forum but...
I have always heard, "April and May put your kites away". On saying that today (wed) I just spent 4 plus hours kiting
One and a half in surf in the morning then moved and foiled for 2.5 hours.... Brilliant.
Foiling has made a huge difference to the amount of time I spend on the water. Especially as I live in probably the least windy spot on the west coast.
In answer to your question...I think this season (now definitely finished), has been average.

You need the weather system to move in a favourable direction to start the convection effect . In general

Wind was good today and for the last week if you have a 85cm wide slalom board and 7.8/8.6 sail and a 50 cm carbon fin.
